Why Fight Night?
Too many
times in my career I have seen the people who specialize in the Sparring
Divisions of Karate get the short end of the stick. I have watched when a child
at tournaments can come in and compete in four different divisions, win four
awards, and leave before lunch without ever putting on any pads; while the
fighter sits, most times with parents and waits till he or she gets to compete
in one division after all the other stuff is done.
Well it is
time the fighting athlete of Karate has their day, or night, and this is it!
When I was considered one of the best fighters in the nation, I would travel
around and
compete against my peers, and even in those events I would notice while we were
fighting in one ring they were taking down the tournament around us at the end
of the day. And to add insult to injury, I find myself doing that at my
tournaments as well.
Well
fighters, this is your night! The Hyatt Regency, a
prestigious place to perform. Three divisions to enter, not limited to one.
And, the only ones there are the ones
who came to spar, which I consider the life blood of sport karate. In order to
showcase our talent in the
south, we will also be adding more divisions as we go, such as tag team sparring
and challenge matches.
So pad up,
show up, live it up. Put it on the line and be part of an exciting new realm in
sport karate. Remember, the first step to being a champ is simply that, taking
the first step. Life is not a spectator sport - See ya at the fights!!!
